What is STAR?
STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. It gives interviewers a clear narrative arc for behavioral questions.
Situation
Set the scene in one or two sentences. Where were you working? What was the context?
Task
What was your specific responsibility or challenge?
Action
Describe what you did — use "I" not "we." This is where you demonstrate skills.
Result
Quantify the outcome when possible. What changed because of your actions?
Prepare 5–7 Stories
Most behavioral questions map to leadership, conflict, failure, success, and teamwork. Prepare stories in advance and practice aloud.
